Global Initiative for Girls’ Rights Education and Empowerment is a registered (RC 101775), non-governmental, non-profit and voluntary organization established with the aim to build the capacities of Girls, Women, Youth and other stakeholders on the issues of education and fundamental human rights. GIGREE also seeks to engender development by promoting Girls’ and Women’s empowerment and values to ensure Self-Reliance, Democracy, Equality and Socio-Political Economic Justice.

COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT
GIGREE achieves this by building the capacities of members of communities on the issues of Gender Equality, Education, Water Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH), and Sexual and Reproductive Health Rights (SRHR).
LOBBYING ADVOCACY AND RESEARCH
GIGREE sensitizes individuals, communities, and relevant stakeholders on issues affecting women and girls, building their confidence and amplifying their voices through training and campaigns.
FUND RAISE
To achieve its goals, GIGREE solicits financial, material, and moral support from development partners, international organizations, private entities, and philanthropists. Support can be through donations, volunteering, or provision of office equipment.

Mrs. Doom Ikyaator
Executive Director
She is the founder/Executive Director of GIGREE. With over a decade of experience in international development, specifically in the design and implementation of development projects both at the grassroots, national, and global level. She holds a Masters in Counseling and is in the process of starting her Doctorate in International Development.
Mrs. Stephanie Apel
Chairman
She is an entrepreneur, an actress, an activist and the founder of Glamorous Mothers Development Initiative (GLAMODI). Due to her passion for the development of young girls, she started the Benue Girls Soar initiative where she convenes a yearly leadership program for secondary school girls.
Barr. (Mrs.) Hembafan Hilary Tingir
Legal Advisor
She is a legal practitioner. She currently works with the National Human Rights Commission as a chief legal officer. With over a decade of experience in mediation and human rights law, she serves on the GIGREE board as the legal advisor.
Mr. Sefa Noah Ikyaator
Secretary
As a business development analyst with over a year of experience in business development, he has worked for different multinationals such as Procter & Gamble, Philip Morris International and GB Foods. Sefa is currently the CEO and Co-founder of Suplias Technologies Limited, a Financial Tech. company in Nigeria. He contributes his wealth of experience to GIGREE’s board as the board’s secretary.
Mr. Tiza Timothy Tarnongo
Member
He is a civil servant with the Standards Organization of Nigeria. He contributes to the board as a member.
