GIGREE conducted a 3-part training series for Women Human Rights Defenders in Benue State, held between March and May 2026.

The trainings focused on Digital Safety, Mental Wellness, and Advocacy & Solidarity Messaging through Storytelling, providing participants with practical knowledge, support, and tools to strengthen their work and voices.

Major outcomes from the series include the development of digital safety policies and mental wellness plans by all participating organizations for adoption within their respective organizations. In addition, a WHRD from GoGreen Environmental Sustainability Initiatives conducted a step-down training on mental wellness for colleagues who were unable to participate in the original training.

We celebrate the amazing WHRDs who participated, shared their experiences, and continue to advocate boldly for the rights of women and girls in their communities.

We also appreciate our partner, Urgent Action Fund-Africa for supporting this important initiative and standing with Women Human Rights Defenders in Benue State.

Together, we continue to build safer spaces, stronger voices, and stronger movements for women and girls.
